SUMMARY: Provide security for indoor, national entertainment events. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guests with proactive visibility that will enhance their entertainment experience and give guests directions
- Provide general security to include venue patrols, backstage entry control, watch for and address issues related to alcohol consumption
- Watch for and address breaches of security, crowd management issues, persons in unauthorized areas and safety hazards
- Provide efficient screening of guests entering the venue for prohibited items using bag checks while utilizing walk-through metal detectors and wand devices
- Provide escorts and security for entertainers, their facilities and cordoned areas
- Respond to incidents of medical emergencies, fire, bomb threats, active shooter, severe weather and disorderly conduct
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
Preferred:
- 1-year experience and/or training in law enforcement, security, military or related field
- Prior event security work or equivalent experience

Required:
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

Required:
- Ability to interact with entertainers, event staff, guests, coworkers and management in a professional manner
- Ability to effectively deal with intoxicated and disorderly persons in a professional manner
- Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
REQUIRED TRAINING
- Treasure Island guest service training
- TIPS training and certification
- CPR/First Aid training
- Additional on-the-job training will be provided
- Any position-related training as determined by department manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to sit, walk or stand and exert fast-paced mobility
- Must be able to perform security, first aid, safety and control verification functions including the physical force required to control suspects and protect physical assets
- Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoop
- Must be able to reach and twist routinely
- Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
- Must infrequently be able to climb
- Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25+ pounds occasionally
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Must have good eye hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed inside the event center and surrounding exterior areas and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises, cigarette smoke and extreme weather conditions
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including long hours, weekends and holidays
- Must deal with angry or hostile individuals
- High volume direct public contact
