DESCRIPTION:Building Bridges Cultural Exchange Program (BBCE) is a newly founded non-profit organization\, that is hosting a cultural immersion camp July 2nd to July 23rd in Minnesota. BBCE's mission is to promote cultural awareness and global citizenship between the United States and other countries in the world through cultural and educational exchanges. Start-up costs associated with the BBCE 2012 Cultural Immersion Camp are being underwritten with a generous donation from the Duff Foundation.\n\n \n\nThe first BBCE "campers" are students and professors from Shandong Polytechnic University (SPU) in China. The three-week camp began and ends in the Twin Cities. It's heart\, however\, is a two-week stay in Red Wing\, during which participants live with host families\, be immersed in the daily life of Red Wing's historical\, cultural\, and artistic heritage of the region\, and enjoy the natural beauty of the upper Mississippi river.\n\n \n\nWhile in Red Wing\, program activities have included attending the Summer Celebration at the Anderson Center\, touring Red Wing museums and historical downtown\, participating in a living history reenactment\, going to Red Wing Aces baseball game\, visiting the Pow Wow at Prairie Island Indian Community\, spending a day with teacher\, farmer\, and poet Pete Beurskens on his farm\, and engaging in community panel discussions and presentations.\n\n \n\n July 18th - BBCE will organize a community farewell celebration for the campers\, their host families\, and the community. You are warmly invited to attend. This event will be held in room 314 at MN Southeast Technical College.
