Join Anderson Center, the Minnesota Latino Museum, and the artists of 'Alebrijes: Building the Dream World' for a reception on Friday, May 30 from 6-8 PM! As always, artist receptions are free and open to all. Light refreshments will be provided.
About the exhibit:
Anderson Center is pleased to partner with the Minnesota Latino Museum to present 'Alebrijes: Building the Dream World'. An alebrije is an imaginary creature that possesses elements from different animals.
This exhibition shows the work of four different artists, all of whom work in the tradition of 'cartoneros', or paper mache artists. See the creative process of artist who take dreams and make them larger-than-life, starting with colorful drawings before moving to 3-D models. The result is large-scale sculptures. This exhibition offers something for all ages.
Alebrijes: Building the Dream World is on view from May 10 - August 16, 2025. Galleries are open Wednesday through Saturday 11 AM - 4 PM.
