August 17—History Break- Historic Red Wing Church Organs, 1880-Today—Noon-1PM— Red Wing native Tom Erickson will lead a discussion on Red Wing’s historic church organs and will discuss how these organs operate.. Usually, these pipe organs were built for and used by Red Wing churches. The presentation begins with a focus on the first church organ, built in 1880, and which was powered by water pressure from the new Red Wing city water system. Most of the instruments in the presentation are located within walking distance of the historic mall in the center of town. If you enjoy music, local history, or stories about Red Wing’s past, you won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind program
